Just so y'all know.

yeah, yeah, i know, you wouldn't take your car to their dyno because of blah, blah, blah. been there, heard that. but anyway, it is a dynojet and the two guys who run it actually do know what they are doing. it sure beats driving to durham to deal with that fucking jeff creech. (i know some of y'all love him but i've been dealing with him for years and have personal issues with him.)

I go to CAM. I think Jeff knows what he's doing... but I was dissastisfied after the last time I went there. He told me he knew how to road tune megasquirt and then had his intern type of guy (he was maybe 19, younger than me) go out for road tuning. The guy had some experience with megasquirt but dind't know that much about tuning (like he didn't know how to tune a spark map for driveability etc).

I think Jeff knows what he's doing but he can have a stick up his ass sometimes. I'm still unsure if I'd go back to him.

I personally know both of the guys that run the dyno at Phantasm. They are both extremely intelligent guys and know what they're doing. Jason would be one of the few guys I would trust with my car.

They all stand around for a dyno normally. If im not mistaken "j-dogg" does the tuning there if he is still working there. Dont think danny knows much about tuning hes more of the main mechanic

I'd definately bring a Honda to Jason at Phantasm. He's tuned a couple cars I know of.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a Mustang dyno. As a matter of fact, it's preferrable in some cases.

On an eddy-current dyno, you do have to do a lot more calibration and hp numbers aren't usually as high as with an inertia dyno, BUT...you can actually run steady-state tests, which you CANNOT do with a Dynojet. You're limited to hard "pulls" with the Dynojet; basically spanking the gas and letting off, as the Dynojet relies on calculating its numbers based on the acceleration rate of the rollers.

The Mustang dyno actually generates more USABLE data if used correctly by the right brainiac. It's the closest thing to a true absorption brake for chassis dynos. The big purpose of generating numbers with a dyno is to dial in your setup optimally. In general, the numbers aren't perfect, but so many dyno squids think they are scripture.

if you dyno for bragging rights, go to a dynojet..

if you want to tune, i dont see the big deal whether the numbers are larger or not... a gain will still be a gain.

mustangs and i think dyno dynamics are the only ones worth tuning on..
inertia dynos load the car differently than the street/track will.

And the Dynojet is an inertia dyno. No steady-state constant loading like you can with an eddy curent dyno or a Prony brake.
