Call or go in person to financial aid to straighten your tuition situation out. Books aren't the route to go to solve that problem.Bookstore is the best if you want IMMEDIATE cash. If you are willing to wait until beginning of Jan, go online. Half.com I personally prefer. Other websites will take out-of-date / old editions for really cheap and pay shipping. I think I got $20 for getting rid of 20 old books that otherwise would have gone to the dumpster. 12/5/2006 3:39:02 PM |

extension on what?
If you don't qualify for enough financial aid to pay tuition up front, go ahead and enroll in the monthly payment plan. 12/5/2006 3:52:42 PM |

if it's a book that's been used on campus and is being used again, you can typically sell to a bookstore around campus (i recommend PackBackers or HSt.) for almost as much as you would get online, without the hassle or the chance of getting scammed. sure, you can often get a little more online but for all the time you have to put into it sometimes, it's worth it to just go across the street. 12/5/2006 4:17:14 PM |

if you really want to be sure about it, compare the prices that the bookstore will give you vs the price you can get online. the difference can be substantial you might end up selling a few locally to the bastards and selling the rest online. 12/5/2006 4:28:42 PM |

if you're gonna sell em back to a bookstore, sell them back on campus and not at independent bookstores, you usually come out on top that way - i compared just for two of mine and came out with
1. on campus 2. addam's

if you need tuition money and your parents are paying for anything, there's a form at financial aid that you can fill out that says to ignore your parent's financial status when qualifying you for aid, but there's a list of qualifications you have to meet 12/5/2006 10:34:02 PM |

^ I imagine it's a big hassle or more people cheap parents would use it to scam the system.

THE BEST PLACE IS http://www.amazon.com
I MADE $1,000 IN HALF A YEAR SELLING TEXTBOOKS ON AMAZON
I WOULD PICK UP DISCARDED BOOKS OUTSIDE DEPARTMENT OFFICES
AND THEN SELL THEM ON AMAZON
USUALLY THEY WERE TEACHERS' EDITIONS, BUT THAT WAS OK
NO SHOP WOULD GIVE YOU WHAT YOU COULD GET ON AMAZON. 12/6/2006 3:32:58 AM |

I generally get good results from HST. I returned on campus once and was sorely disappointed. spro, why do you say on campus...? 12/6/2006 9:59:22 AM |

I've listed a bunch of old textbooks on half.com and amazon.com marketplace. I like the site interface of half.com, plus the commission is lower. But I've had better luck selling on amazon.com. And when buying for books ~50 dollars or less, I can usually find a better deal at amazon.com. If they're over 50 bucks, I usually find a better deal at half.com. 12/6/2006 10:37:52 AM |
