for the last week or so, my dog has been having the occasional accident on the carpet
he's a fairly old dog and hasn't had any problems like this ever before
i'd chock it up to old age but it came on real suddenly and has happened 5 times in the last week and a half
do you think it is a vet-worthy problem/maybe a UTI or do age-related bladder problems come on suddenly like this? 12/5/2006 10:32:35 PM |

I think it definitely merits a vet visit just to be safe. How old is fairly old? 12/5/2006 10:47:59 PM |

12 i think
maybe 11, maybe 13
he's a rescue so it's hard to be sure
and i have to take one of my other dogs to the vet so i figured if someone thought it was worth checking out i'd haul along the pee dog 12/5/2006 10:51:09 PM |

first step is to take to vet to rule out any medical conditions (UTI, incontinence, etc. ) then after that, you can work at it as a behavioral problem, but yes, take to a vet first 12/5/2006 10:52:02 PM |

i'd take him to the vet... esp. if he seems to be in discomfort/pain when he's peeing... 12/6/2006 1:21:07 AM |
