i finally get my tcase all buttoned up, new seals, new rear yoke on my rear driveshaft. got the shifter relocation bracket which looks like it's gonna be sweet, then i pull my shifter assembly offa my tranny to reseal it bc it's leaking.......imagine that, and the little plastic part of the shifter assembly has broken into little tiny pieces. ugh. i think i might get a b&m short shifter unless jeep has it cheaper.

nope. inside the actual shifter housing/assembly there is a plastice piece that the metal ball pivots around on. this piece is now pieceS and i'm pretty sure it's a one piece shifter so i'm gonna make some calls and try to get one fast

it's an ax-5. i'm pretty sure that the shifter assembly is one enclosed piece so i can't really fab one up

so the tards at cary autopark had no idea what i was talking about even after i explained exactly what is was and where it went and where it attached. "so this is for your transfer case?" NO, AN AX-5 IS NOT A TRANSFER CASE

called david o'neal and the parts guy was awesome. i think i might be able to get the plastic bushing thing and fix it today.....maybe. the parts guy said that the techs know what it is and that it's commonly replaced. i'm just gonna cross my fingers and head out there.

I always go to david o'neal. The parts guys that work there are top-notch. Plus, if there's some reason I need to take my jeeps in for work I can't do, they are reasonable on price if you know what you are talking about.
