A white Ford GT with blue racing stripes on Hillsborough in front of the old Farmhouse, and the guy driving the car looked young enough to be a student. Does anybody know anything about this? The car had a 30 day tag on it.

I know there is a range rover, 2 range rover sports (one of which is supercharged) and a brand new M5 (also has the 30 day tag on it) on campus, but a Ford GT would be insane.

^I'd rather have a 360/Testarossa than a Ford GT... but I'm a Ferrari guy.

^^ any Ferrari >>> Any ForD. even the shitty shop queen ferraris that don't run.

and it doesn't have to be 'top of the line' to be nicer than a Ford GT.

^^not to burst your bubble but there is nothing special about a Z06. yes they're fast and quick around a track but they are in no way in the same boat as any of the said cars.

^^So the guy driving the GT is the same guy that's been driving an 06/07 M5 around campus for the last two weeks?

I realize that this is more of an opinion issue than a factual one, but the Z06 is in the same boat as the Ferrari 360, Ford GT, etc... Although it costs significantly less, the C6 Z06 can easily run with the big hitters around the track. I believe that the Z06 doesn't get the respect is deserves for two reasons... (1) It's a Chevrolet (2) Because it costs so much less, it's cheaper on the inside and less exotic on the outside than every other car in its performance class.

So I say to you, if Chevrolet can build a car that can hang with Ferrari's, 911 Turbo's, Vipers, Ford GT's, Gallardo's, etc. etc. for significantly less.... why is that not special?

^

it doesnt cost enough is its problem. you have to get in the mind of those who buy 100,000+ cars. they want to impress people, if they say otherwise they are lying.

note : i dont have anything wrong with it

it has the same steering wheel as the sunfire, its got more plastic in it than a lego playland

its got insane performance but its not even in the same league as those cars

blah blah blah...you know i summed up everything you said in that post in my own post. Its fast and quick around a track. The point is even an 'evo' can hang with some exotics with the right mods...but its the image of the car, its interior etc that makes it an exotic...not to mention price tag. Ford built an exotic so chevy can do the same if they weren't so inlove with their cavalier interiors. And the fact that every redneck and his brother drives a Z06 or rather, an automatic vette makes it even worse. WOOOOWEEEE 500HP!

but in defence of the Z06...its always nice doing 130 down a straight away and you get your doors blown off by a Z06, makes you feel like you were parralel parking on the side of the track.
