Any personal reviews of it? I know i know I can check cnet and all other places and have but wanted to see if anyone else had some reviews about this product? I like the camera for what it is a point and shoot.

specifically the battery life, that is one thing that i have read is the battery doesnt last as long as some would expect?

Also are these batteries worth a damn compared OEM replacement form canon?

I've had an SD200 for like 3 years, and I'll just say this: I will never buy another ultracompact P&S camera NOT made by Canon.

I've been holding off on upgrading this thing until something really amazing comes out (like the SD1300 or something), b/c really all Canon has added is extra megapixels and a so-so IS on one of those upper models.

But here's my suggestion: buy it. Canon P&S's are amazing. There's lots of threads up here on this, and nearly everytime its unanamous that Canon rocks.

EDIT: My SD200 battery lasts about 300-350 shots on max resolution & quality. In other words, I can fill up a 512MB SD card before the battery runs out. The battery has never held me back (even after 3 years of CONSTANT use), rather the card size has always been the bottleneck. Additionally, I'd stick w/ Canon batteries. Amazon usually has fair deals on 'em with free shipping and sometimes a free case or whatnot.

I just bought one a couple weeks ago, I got if from Dell home deals, paid $207 for it. Haven't used it too much, but I am very pleased with the quality. I also have a Sony W1, 5.1 MP camera thats a lil older, but its evident that the Canon is much much better.

yeah i am buying this for my girlfriend and she currently has the S200 also. I have used it several times and i agree with you assesment of it. That is why i am sticking with canon for a replacement.

And yes the SD630 has a few upgrades, most notablly the pixels and some other options and it would be nice to wait for something amazing to come out but they drop is prices so quickly, doesnt matter so much.

I do love the 3" LCD screen it offers, was playing with it at bestbuy last night.

ive got an s500 and a few other ppl in my family have newer models. they all work great. we've been very happy with canon cameras in general, both p&s and cheaper slr's.

i have found this site to be helpful with the tech specs and test image samples that are actually of the same thing so you can compare image quality across the board (only if the camera you are looking for has a full review)

Ive had the sd630 since june.. I love the camera, the big screen is great for viewing pictures and the picture quality taken is very good for a point and shoot camera. Ive really had no problems. The batteries do eventually die, but it comes with a charger for its little battery pack and it charges quickly.

I have an SD600..im pretty sure the SD630 is the exact same thing w/o a viewfinder. i love the thing. this is my second canon camera after i had an SD30 which was stolen at a party. anyway, it has really fast startup time so its on and ready to take pictures, the screen is bright and clear and i have never had the battery die. i went to scotland a few months ago and took pictures for 4 days straight on almost the highest resolution with the screen still on. was really worried on the 3rd and 4th days that it would die but never did. id highly recommend any canon camera. oh yeah, as far as the picture goes its great too. buy one

Yes the SD600 and SD630 are one in the same camera except the LCD is bigger on the 630 and seems to be a bit more stylish than the 600, otherwise the same

As far as replacement batteries, are the ones i linked in the first post worth a damn or should i get canon replacements?

^^ i have no clue about the batteries...if it were me i would stick with canon. but who knows...i have never needed a second battery since i have had the camera b/c it has never died between charges.

I've got an SD600, too, and it's a fantastic little camera. The only differences are that the SD630 has a 3" LCD and no viewfinder as opposed to the 600's 2.5", and the 630 itself is a little more pleasing to the eye. The functional bits are exactly the same.

The picture quality is outstanding for the size of the camera and both zooms work very well. Personally, I've never been big on toting a camera everywhere, but the Canon is so small and convenient, I took 200 shots at the basketball game on Saturday and another 100 at the roller derby, all on a single charge with the LCD on.

I also love the speed of the continuous/burst mode; my roommate and his g/f wanted to take Christmas card pictures in front of gaudy decorations around town, and the burst allowed me to take ~40 pictures at each location without us having to be in anyone's yard for more than 20 seconds.

Get one, I think you'll be very pleased. I got my 600 on newegg.com for $210 with free shipping and a 2GB SD card included.

I picked one up at buydig.com for 253 and a 1GB memory card

i bought some el cheap-o battery just to see how well they preform, was a hgiher capacity version being like 900mAmps as opposed to the OEM 750

see how that goes

well i bought it as an x-mas present for the girlfriend and she loves it

took it to NYC for a day and took about 200 pics and i dont think the battery dropped one bar... so i guess it isnt as bad as they said

see what it is like in a couple months when it has been used more

i got an sd700is a few months ago, one of the best camera's ive owned hands down. good image quality, good set of features, compact size, and surprisingly rugged. however, i did have an issue with the zoom lever malfunctioning, i boxed it up, sent it to cannon's repair shop up in NY, had it back in 5 business days.
