decide for yourself.

i liked this documentary.

perhaps the coolest thing from this documentary is that people are actually not filing their income tax returns legally. they get arrested by the irs when they do it, but juries have declared several of these people not guilty of tax evasion because their is no law on a direct tax on wages, nor a supreme court case that could be cited.

Hmm, I'm fairly sure Congress at some point passed a law saying people must pay their taxes as dictated by the IRS. More likely, it was jury nullification. The Jury members do not consider the law just, and just because it is the law does not require that they enforce it.

Always remember that, folks: if you sit on a jury and you think either the punishment is too harsh or the law itself is unjust then just vote not guilty. There is nothing they can do to you.

The guy is a liar. He lied about his movie being played at the Cannes Film Festival, and he lied about the stuff in his movie.

yeah . . . it went from talking about taxes to a bunch of other crap . . . but i guess that is to be expected from something titled [s]America: Freedom To Fascism[i]

it is an interesting proposition about the taxes though, and I might look into it more. But even if I am not required to I think I am gonna pay them just the same since I don't think most juries would go along with the idea . . . there have been far too many people convicted of tax evasion.

There is no dispute that Congress has the right to levy taxes. It strikes me as silly to suggest that congress never bothered actually passing a law requiring payment and affixing punishments for evasion.

^there is a law requiring payment of income taxes . . . however income is defined as a capital gain. So the law requires corporations to pay income taxes. The supreme court has made several rulings that uphold that there is no law requiring it.

Did anyone besides me actually watch the video?

"For the record, we note that the following beliefs, which are stock arguments of the tax protester movement, have not been, nor ever will be, considered `objectively reasonable' in this circuit:

"(1) the belief that the sixteenth amendment to the constitution was improperly ratified, and therefore never came into being;

"(2) the belief that the sixteenth amendment is unconstitutional generally;

"(3) the belief that the income tax violates the takings clause of the fifth amendment;

"(4) the belief that the tax laws are unconstitutional; [498 U.S. 192, 199]

"(5) the belief that wages are not income, and therefore are not subject to federal income tax laws;

"(6) the belief that filing a tax return violates the privilege against self-incrimination; and

"(7) the belief that Federal Reserve Notes do not constitute cash or income.

This guy is just spouting stupid shit.

^nope sure didn't . . . thats why I said earlier that I would have to look into it more. The things I stated are just what the movie stated. That video only made points 5 and 6.

and the supreme court cases that I was talking about from the movie were from like the 1920's.

The best argument against the income tax code is to try and read it.
