can i backout the java code of a file using only the class file and the sdk?

decompile?

sure you can, but i don't think it will showup with meaningful variable/method names and comments

i have used cavaj to decompile java source, its surprising how much of the original source is retained, without comments though

DJ Compiler works well too. I've had to use it many times at work
