Yeah I know I'm checking ebay but I thought I'd check here too.

Looking for a 4th or 3rd gen Ipod with a 20gb working drive (or a 20gb working drive that will fit a 3g ipod). All other parts and pieces of any ipod, need not work.

I have a 4th gen iPod 20 gig with a short or something in the phono jack, hard drive works fine though..

Before you go and spend any money - I have something you might want to try. I have a 4th gen 20G that had been dead for months - the hard drive would just click and spin down repeatedly, sad ipod icon, etc., so I assumed it was dead until I found a thing on the internet about reseating the cable to the mobo and the HDD. It works perfectly now, just like before, so having been in your situation, I would recommend trying that first.

^ already did, but thanks for the advice. That has fixed 2 other ipods friends of mine owned.
