somebody recommend me one, since I pwnt myself and espnmobile is going out of business at the end of the month

I was looking at the samsung blackjack, but cingular seriously charges like $90 a month for service even if you get the cheapest plan, and I aint exactly on the phone all the time so that's grand fuckin larceny

I was also considering the cingular 2125 smartphone

the verizon lg chocolate

the motorola q

what I will not consider under any circumstances:

the razr

the slvr

the krzr

I've heard shittons of good things about it. It looks kind of bland in comparison to the blackjack, though.

I would suggest a Sony Ericsson phone, but the best ones either are not out yet, or are only available outside of the US.

if you want compact, music playing, easy UI, with the best damn pictures you'll ever take with a phone, get an unlocked Sony Ericsson w810i.

If you want a PDA phone go with the 8525 from Cingular. We don't have 3G service yet here in the Carolinas, but it will be coming soon. 3G is like the equivalent of Verizon EVDO service which is already here. And the PDA media plans from Cingular are only $40 a month, compared to Verizon's $60 a month.

You can also get email and internet with the w810i and the 2125 smart phone you where talking about, and only have to pay $20 a month for unlimited data. The only problem there is that you will be accessing the internet through Cingular's WAP server, and it just a little bit slower. The PDA plans are so expensive because they allow you to access the internet directly.

Hope this helps

I have a LG VX8300 also. Nice phone. The 8600 is just a little thinner, other than that, same phone.

Yea that's fake.

But what is known is:

Two batteries, one for phone, one for music, one charger.

Two screens, one internal, one external (external is a touchscreen)

Full Qwerty keypad.

4gb and 8gb versions. uses flash memory like the nano.

249 and 449 should be the price points.

Should be available for Cingular, Verizon and T-Mobile. possibly will launch with Sprint too.

no pictures have been released, I have no clue what it's going to look like.

All of this information was leaked by a slightly intoxicated Kevin Rose.

Thats not so much as a phone as a big PDA.

I wouldn't bank on the first generation cellular product of any company.

Actually, don't bother buying any type of expensive phone. Their all relatively terrible.

[Edited on December 15, 2006 at 1:59 PM. Reason : and those price points are laughable without a contract.]

^being that you have no idea what it looks like, quit talking out your ass.

If Apple has ONE thing going for it, it's that they dont make gigantor portable shit. My educated guess is this thing will be about the same footprint as the original ipods, but of course packed with more shit.

And there are many reasons why a brand new 1st gen phone from Apple would be heads and shoulders better than platform phones from Moto, Nokia or Sony Ericsson.

Not to mention the paradigm of making a good mp3 player that also has phone functionality, versus a phone with mp3 capability.

Those pricepoints are cheap as shit compared to nearly any open market phone.

No I'm pretty sure a 1st Gen phone from Apple will be as equally shit as anything else from anyone else with regards to cellular functionality.

But hey, It'll probably be white or black and look cool.

What possible reasoning/evidence can you have to back that up?

I'll bet you can't even name the last 1st gen platform that came out.

Because they'll probably use the same Ti/LG/Qualcomm/insert cheapaspossible solution everyone else does.

Unless off course, you can prove that Apple is developing its own GSM/CDMA chipsets as well.

Sure they'll use the same hardware. I'm talking about the software solution/architecture/platform.

How can you argue they will have worse hardware functionality when everything is pretty standard these days?

I actually don't really need to argue vaporware with you besides saying THIS:

Would challenge the Zune in size.

If I were to guess, it would be a stick phone, one battery, one display (possible touch) with internal NAND memory @4gb and tri US band GSM with capacitance touch buttons and mediocre reception.

If they don't have AGPS and HSDPA, then the phone will release to market outdated and outclassed at that price point.

If it were to include these features, it would be 500$ +

Fixed this for you. But yes, I can attest first hand to the w810i taking great pictures. But right now I'd say the k790/k800 has the best camera optics/flash/camera features on the market.
