Computer won't restart, I've chosen to restart from "start" and I've also tried to do it after Windows updates when it asks to restart, but he computer will not do it, any suggestions?

Yea, I turned it off earlier this week, but i figured it not restarting continuously (whihc is what its doing all week) might be a problem, I mean turning the power source off each time I want to restart seems trite

Could be a process running in the background is not responding and won't close, sometimes if mine is taking a while I wait and it pops up an error box about how this running task is not responding, so when I click 'End Now' it continues shutting down....just a thought if it keeps happening you could try waiting a while and see if anything comes up.
