So i have a LiteOn SOHW-1633S DVD burner and am having trouble burning DVD-Rs. Online reviews and product websites say it supports DVD-R, and the NeroInfoTool says that it supports DVD-R. However, try as I might, I cannot get it to burn a DVD-R disc. I also tried updating the firmware, but it doesn't look like its been updated since the burner came out. I have a 50-pack of Sony DVD-R discs (PN 50DMR47LS4) and every disc that i've tried has given me an error. Could it just be a batch of bad discs? I've also tried to burn the discs using two different software packages with the same result. I am currently trying to get my work laptop set up with software so that I can see if it'll burn them. Any suggestions on other things I can do?

well this may be dead real quick...even though liteon's website listed the date of the firmware as sep 2004, there was one from march 2006 on their it site. flashed the firmware and it seems to be working now. woohoo
