Wii Sports - play time = 40 hours. The more I play it, the more I like it. The whole Mii character being introduced here was very thoughout. Controls are easy to learn with the help of the training and games will keep your interest for quite a long time.

Red Steel - play time = ~5 hours. This game blows. There are so many bugs. Bosses will just stand there and not move or fight back. Granades are impossible to aim and throw. Getting stuck in parts of the map and cannot move. This game SUCKS. Avoid at all costs.

Rayman - play time = 4 hours. Seems to be a really fun game. I could play this 1 player or multi-player. More on this after more time played. Shoot them rabbids with a plunger.

Reading - play time = ~1 minute. Just plain silly.

i don't get this whole wii sports thing. I played it for 2 hours and decided it was kinda of gimmicky. maybe that's too harsh but i find myself going back to the 360 over and over again. doh.

I hear people are putting alot of time into it, but I can't fathom how it doesn't get old - playing the same vs. minigames over and over?

the thing about Wii Sports is that anyone can compete and have fun, but if you really play the game you will learn, like any game, how to master certain sports. I am a _very_ competitive person and so are my friends. It's really cool cause the games take ~10 minutes each and you are trying to beat your friends as well as your own high score.

4^ - because this thread is only about the games and not about the remote, bad internet connections, or fan boy talk.

I think you need to have others with you for it to be worth your while

Something tells me since i'm not in school anymore, it may not be worth a purchase

Sure my g/f would play, but without heavy boozing and at least a few other people to rotate, it may not be as fun

^yeah, i'm not in school anymore, but still live near campus. Alot of my friends still live around here too. The system, so far, is mainly a party system. That said, if you don't have a high traffic apt then you may not like the Wii.

Yeah, I definitely don't live anywhere near campus anymore, and actually all of my work friends live about 45 minutes away from me (work in Mebane, they live in CH, I live in Burlington)

i have seen zelda...looked good if you are into games like that. The reason i got it was:

1. cheap
2. motion controllers - something new and different
3. my girlfriend will play it and actually enjoy playing video games
4. you can play it just about as good drunk as sober (sometimes better when bowling)
5. Smash Bro Brawl

^Same reasons here. It's the cheapest of the evils and it is tons of fun. I've been annoyed with some of the controls though...Link tends to like hurling himself of cliffs a lot, and my Elebits get whacked with my joystick more than actually getting caught. I guess I just need to get used to it...

yeah, the $250 price was a impulse buy for me, but $400 - $600 isn't

It's pretty sad, but I'm the same way

On my way to wal-mart yesterday, I decided if there was a Wii there I would buy it. I would never do that for a 360 or a ps3...I would actually have planned those purchases out

and no, they were out by the time I got there

does anyone know if they are planning to make a star wars game for Wii? I've looked online and I can't find any. I mean it really is the ideal console for a lightsaber game. Or does microsoft have dibs on all star wars games.

And I do know about the lego star wars thing, but that just doesn't light my fire.

Take a look a few pages back on the big Wii thread, there is something about a Star Wars game in the works.
