So I am watching mythbusters and they seem to say mothball in cheap gas(88) will run like 91 and so on! has anyone tried this?

mothballs are a hydrocarbon base. this is the same sorta deal as adding xylene or tulene to your tank. you can do it to get ultra high octane fuel for high boost and such, but there are reprocussions to your fuel system

there are different kinds of moth balls. The old kind (napthalene) are the flammable kind... I dont know if the ones you'll find around here will work, they will probably be dichlorobenzene.

The way I see it if you just spend the dollars on higher octane gas you are eliminating the risk of fucking things up. Even adding toluene or xylene aint cheap (and its real hard to find just toluene because its used in making meth or some shit)... Just get better gas. IMHO YMMV STFU ETC
