and its fresher by the time you eat it

But if it's for a Christmas present, it's kind of tacky to show up with a bag full of steaks from the grocery store. To me, at least.

sure, why not?

Apparently you missed the thread title DamnStraight. It is "Omaha Steaks vs other online sites" not Omaha Steaks vs brick and mortar stores.

What's lame is giving people gifts I know they'll never use that just collect dust in the closet. At least this way I can be damn sure they can use my gift and enjoy it.

I would much rather have a tractor pull up to my house with an entire beef animal on it, still warm, than to get the very same $$$ amount of two petite frozen steaks in my mailbox from some dumbass.

^^Thanks. I was debating giving a gc to melting pot, but was hoping to find something a little more creative.

Ok, so what online site will pull up a tractor with the animal to my house?

What's your address? And because your are the 1000th customer today, we'll throw in the first raccoon that's killed on your delivery run!!!!!!

Personally: Screw Omaha. Go find a local butcher to make up a grandaddy of a spread like that/

Ok, here's an idea for a grrrrreat Christmas!

For the same money you waste on that bullshit, have your new-found butcher prepare everything just like you want, not GOURMET FUCKING OVERPRICED FUCKING FRRRANKS (HOTDOGS YOU DUMBASS!!) YO.., woops, alright, back to business...have him/her cut just what you want, no bs filler meat crap just to fill up a bunch of meaty sounding text lines.// consumer, are you there???????

And since everyone else is going to be ordering online, maybe your new butcher can wrap this realllllly good stuff up special, and bring it to them in person. Surely he has nothing else to do with everyone jumping up and down over those........ $40 Omaha GUORMET FRANKS (HOT DOGS again you dumbass!!!!!!!!!!!)

that's the stupidest thing i've ever heard in my entire life. there's nothing about omaha steaks or any other online store that makes their steaks "cooler" or more desirable.

you, sir, have been pwn by marketing droids. idiot

my parents used to give them to me as gifts....i always liked it, especially when i was in college. i could just keep everything frozen until i wanted something. very convinient, and it was always quality meat.

Yeah we just got one the other day, the gayass UPS guy didn't even ring the doorbell when he delivered it at 10 PM so it set there thawing all night, but seems to be ok, was fairly cold out. Some of the stuff they sent wasn't what was originally ordered, so we called them up and they're sending us the other stuff too to make up for it. (probably were out of stock at the shipping place so substituted other foods so as not to ruin the gift with a late delivery)
