Hey,

While looking for a frozen pizza at my parents (no luck) i found this little sucker in the food lion parking lot being rained on and shivering. So i brought him home (dad isnt as happy as a clam but mom and sis love it). Is this just a flea ridden mutt or any identifying things about him, just wondering for like size and stuff.

this is retarded. put that dog back in the parking lot you dont know who it belongs to or what it has. your family could be in grave danger right now.

Well if i die of plague then so be it, the puppy looks healhty, while it could belong to sombody, most people dont leave things they care about in the middle of a Closed food lion parking lot..

and no.

i might be able to identify the dog better if your sister was holding it wearing nothing at all.

I think were going to keep it unless it has an owner..

It loooks kinda like a border Terrier, if its full blood its expensive, so its probably not abandoned.

WEll figure it out, it seems to crave human attention so i dont think it ran away, its really tiny, it couldnt have made it out to the lot alone

Doesn't really look like a Parson Russell...the head shape doesn't seem right.

looking at the paws and it's head, you can tell it's going to be a small dog. i concur with the "some kind of terrier" assessments.

he could've simply escaped from a backyard, or something like that. i can't imagine someone would just dump a puppy that's only a few weeks old in the middle of a parking lot. then again, my dog was found in the middle of a boulevard in cary when she was just ~3 weeks old. her stomach was bloated like crazy (probably due to hunger and drinking dirty water). amazingly, she didn't have any fleas, ticks or anything like that on her. all she need was a bath and food.

Yea, i mean i thought about that, the thing is there is no housing within a mile of the food lion. (And what housing there is is seperated by a few 4 lane roads) and everything around there was closed. (i looked around a bit for a possible owner), the pupply isnt like a bigger puppy, its only about 5 pounds. Its really a small puppy, i cant see it covering that many miles.
Honestly im not sure if it could climb a curb, it cant get over stairs.

Damn Ryan your sister is still hot.

About the dog though, maybe you should put some flyers up around the Food Lion and see if anybody is missing a dog? Just a thought.

Perhaps someone was selling/giving away a litter in that parking lot, and when the traffic got low ditched it rather than take it home ... people have done worse

Anyway it's cute and good luck

i'll go with the "terrier something" vote.

one way or another, the little guy should end up with a good home just in time for the new year.

border terrier mix

if you don't keep him or find owner he'd be easy to find a home for.
just call the local spca and animal control. report a found dog - leave description.
and have a vet scan him for a microchip. if its purebred its prob chipped

Looks sorta like a cairn.

Some dogs are easy to tell with mixes, usually if it's two pure breds that went and did the naughty. Sometimes you can guess by bone structure, fur texture, or personality type things....sometimes.

Anyways it looks like it's in the terrier family which means it's probably reeeeeeaaaaaaaaaallllllllly smart and needs dominance. Just be sure to remain alpha even though it's an adorable puppy.

cute puppy! just so you know, North Carolina law asks that you give three days to finding the owners of the puppy. If you hear nothing in that period, then the puppy is legally yours.

Just noticed this was posted on Xmas day, so the puppy is yours now!
