Banquet Crock Pot Classics are pretty good. Check for them in the freezer section of the grocery stores. Everything is in it, just cook for 4-8 hours (depending on the setting) and serve. They're $4-5 and will feed 3-5 people based on how much you eat.

^^^ I would def. try one before you go out and get loads of them. My boyfriend and his roommates tried them, and actually threw it away it was so bad. Very salty!

^^ The chicken and rice isn't so great. The stroganoff one is ok, though.

If you want to do it yourself, just buy stew beef, vegetables, and seasoning (McCormick has seasoning packets for crock pot roasts etc.), cover with water, and let it go on low for 8 hours.

again, i'm not down with that pre-mixed stuff like you find in seasoning packets... they usually contain a good amount of salt, and i like to control exactly how much salt i add to my food.

buy a pork butt or shoulder, cut off the bone and fat if you want, put it in the crock pot with whatever seasoning/bbq sauce/vinegar you want and some water to keep it from burning the bottom, and let it cook for 8+ hours.

The meat will get super tender and you can just take a fork and pull it apart, or pull the whole thing out and chop it if you like. Make sure that you always have liquid in the crock with the meat or it will dry out really quickly.

I do Chicken and Rice a lot: 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 can of cream of chicken, 3-4 boneless chicken breasts (they can still be frozen if you don't feel like thawing them). Combine them all in the crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours. When you get home, stir the mixture in the crock pot (the chicken will break apart when you stir it). Make whatever rice you like and pour the crock pot mixture over it.

Another one I like to do is vegetable soup: pour in 1 bottle of V8 (they make V8 in low-sodium too) and add whatever veggies you like to make it whatever consitency you like (I make mine really chunky). You can use fresh veggies or frozen, but I'm way too lazy to do all of that chopping so I just buy the frozen ones. If you want, you can add ground beef. I usually season it with pepper, oregano, and Mrs. Dash Tomato Basil Garlic seasoning, plus I add extra garlic because I love garlic. Cook on low for 8 hours.

I make a sort of pork bbq in the crock pot ... it's not "true" bbq but it's still pretty good. I use lime juice, curry, and other random spices ... if you have vidalia (yellow works) chop some of that up fine and fresh and it's even better
