both batts for my 9.6v dewalt done shit the bucket. new ones are 47 bucks a piece from lowes, even more expensive just ebout everywhere else unless you buy 4. is there a way to by cheap generic ones that fir dewalt? or should i go ahead and invest into some new dewalt batts or get a cheap <$100 cordless drill kit that comes with two batts and a charger. that so i wont keep getting raped on batts down the road (possibly get a kit with sawsall and all that shit that uses same 18-24 volt 25-30 dollar batteries). or are those cheap cordless deals gon shit the bucket before the batteries do? how about those people that rebuild your old batt packs, i seen a couple on craigslist, are they any good? i usually use it as a driver more than a drill.

anyow time to spend some christmas cash i wouuld hate to wate half of it on just batteries unless its justified

Damn, I've got an old 12v DeWalt that I thought was old. And no, I wouldn't buy and more new batteries for it. At some point, shit gets so outdated you should probab just scrap it and start over.

i have a pile of old 14.4 and 18v dewalt tools and bateries, that shit dont last two years tops, its all milwalkee for me from here on out

They sell replacement battery cells at Batteries Plus.

You can open the DeWalt packs, see what sized cells they use (and how many), buy replacement cells from Batteries Plus, and solder them up in the DeWalt casing. They won't cost much to rebuild. That's probably what the Craigslist guy is doing.

I found a 14.4 DeWalt XRP battery pack on the side of the road a little while back. Thnx lazy construction worker!
