i really like Rome. Cable networks have indeed stepped up in having high quality tv shows. regular tv networks need to take note. a good portion of my fav. tv shows are from the cable networks.

mixed feelings about this episode
wasnt feeling all the mourning and thought they put a little too much in this episode

I thought it was awesome. Felt like more of an end to a season than a premiere, but definitely lots of questions, as always with Rome.

Oh, and when the guy was sitting in his bathouse relaxing at the end, and all you hear are the fighting and screams of people dying in the common room....awesome. Very well done. You're like "oh shit, they're killing EVERYONE."

I think his kids are dead. He'll leave the "civic" part of life and want to go back into the military or something. Who knows.

I could see it going either way though. Halfway through the season he finds out they are alive or something.

This is very often said, but rarely true...but is the Second Season going to be better than the first? So far, it definitely is for me. I don't know whether I'm just more invested in the storylines or what, but this shit is getting good.

I wish Vorenus was still a moral man, since in Rome he was the one exception basically...but it does deepen his character to have him totally deviate. I have no clue what to expect when I watch him now, which is about a 180 from Season 1.

Pullo is obviously having big trouble following Vorenus, and I'm thinking this will lead Vorenus, Pullo, and the new Legionaire to join them into places they don't really want to go. Especially Pullo and the new guy.

Why is Max Pirkis leaving? He's one of the best actors on the show...every scene with him in it seems to shine.

Also, Big nod to the actor who plays Antony. Damn fine work so far.

yeah, im definately more into the beginning then i was last season.

i almost stopped watching after the first 3-4 shows because it was just slow and uneventful, thankfully i made it through and from about episode 6 or so on, it got really good.

this season has been great from the beginning.

I think it had to do with them wanting an older actor. After all, him being so young doesn't work so well anymore, as far as where they are in history. I agree though, I loved his scenes.

I agree that he is an excellent actor and he has done a great job, but he still looks extremely young. Octavian is supposed to become the first emeror of Rome, so I would think they would want him to look more mature in the following episodes.

Still, fuck history a tiny bit, and make Augustus younger in the show. Pirkis is worth it.
