Try a permissions repair.

And create a new account, see if the problem persisits.

^

If you decide to do a permissions repair, try doing it by booting from your Mac OS X install DVD. There should be a menu option that will let you run Disk Utility directly from the DVD disc.

That said, I'd try the new account idea first. If the problem happens again, then try a permissions repair. if that doesn't work, then it might not be good.

Dang it, people. If you really want help with your problems, it seems like the logical thing to do would be to provide enough information that third parties actually understand what the problem is.

i don't have osx Dvd with me now.

I'm not good at computer so it is hard to identify the problems. >.< First, ibook didn't recognize the WACOM Tablet that I plugged in. Next, when I opened up the utilitiy , the applications seem to be disappeared. I couldn't even locate system profiler . When I tried to install any program, it was asking like what program I want to open with.

Did you try creating a new account, then logging in and trying your tasks again?

If that doesn't work, just do an archive and install, then run software update.
