So a few months ago I accidentally swiped the windshield wiper lever on my 97 Honda Civic EX and they went nuts. I moved the lever quite a bit until they finally stopped.

The other night it happened again and I spent about 20 minutes trying to get the wipers to act normally. Next time I need to turn on the wipers I'll probably have the same problem. Can anyone help me with this or should I just take it to the dealership?

sounds like you need a new switch, you may even get by fine with a used one. i dont have a civic right here in front of me but IIRC replacement will definitely require at lease pulling the upper/lower steering column trim and possibly the airbag then steering wheel.
