well, it does sometimes, but usually when I turn the key it just goes click click click. Eventually it will start like normal.

it almost sounds like a relay is faulty because when it starts, there is no waiting..it cranks right up.

It's one of them goddamn Nippondenso starters. Internal contacts. EVERY damn garage rat knows it, and every one said it.

To Deshman007 (whatever kinda homofaggit name that is)...the starter solenoid is basically a fucking relay on steroids, and when its contacts wear out (from all the arcing that occurs; very common on the Densos), your symptoms occur.

You can either:

1. Take the starter off, open the back of the solenoid, and replace the contacts with new ones that you purchased through T Hoff or Carquest (ya gotta tell em it's a WorldPac item).

2. Take the starter off and carry it to a shop and have it rebuilt.

3. Take the starter off and go buy a reman one from your friendly auto parts store (though most of them aren't very friendly and for lots of good reasons).

4. Let it drive you batshit crazy for a year like ol' Kyle up there.

youre starter is fucked, either take it off and put a reman on eon, or if you have some common sense, go get some contacts and brushes from t-hoff and rebuild it yourself

they arent hard to take off on those cars, disconnect the battery, disconnect the wires on the stater, take out the towo bolts and pull it off, theres nothing you have to take off to get to it

TAKE IT OFF

TAKE IT ALL OFF

(gratuitous Van Halen quote from their wonderful little ditty, "Dirty Movies")
