Is anyone familiar with this program? It seems so different from 7.5 and we are trying to create a fillable form for folks to use. But we also need parts of it locked. Anyone have any ideas?

i don't think the standalone reader can make forms and lock things

the professional version can though - it comes with an app called LiveCycle Designer which can do all this form stuff

You're the second person that has mentioned the Professional edition. Definitely looking into that.

I don't think he actually means "professional version". I think he means you need "Adobe Acrobat", and not just "Adobe Acrobat Reader". This is true for all versions of Acrobat, not just v8. To create PDFs, insert forms, and interactive features, you must have Acrobat. Acrobat Reader just opens PDFs and does simple editing or form completion, but not actually adding forms to the document.

Standard version looks like its slightly cheaper and may do what you need it to do. If this is a time-sensitive issue, buy professional.

nah, you have to have either Pro or 3D to be able to build form PDF's
