How do these mp4 players work? Ive found a few from Hong Kong on ebay thats really cheap, and I wanted to try one out - they say they support mp3s, so do they convert them to mp4s or do you convert them yourself?

Im not looking into a big investment here, so Im not going to spend too much on the players if they were meant to be cheap in the first place- any info would be great

Based on the excerpt below, I would be willing to bet that the audio formats work straight out, and you convert the others:

thats what I figured, I was just wondering if anyone else around here had used one and had any difficulties or preferences about them - i know they are definetly not an ipod, but i dont see spending that much money on something that will get broken so easily

Also, reading that, these use 2.5mm headphone jack, may want to keep that in mind.

yeah Ive seen them go for 20 on there with free shipping - of course it will take probably 2 weeks to get from hong kong but who cares? it comes with headphones though, and they sell better ones on ebay ;-)

of course you do - but never would I pay for an ipod thats $200+ when a new one comes out monthly and its time to buy a new one and throw more money away
