Did anyone else notice the blooper by the sports announcer during the giants v eagles game.

in the 4th quarter the guy was talking about how Eli was underperforming and not as good of an investment as they were hoping for as the 1st pick in the draft compared to other players drafted later in the 1st round including ben rothelsburger and philip rivers. That was the mistake, yes eli was the 1st pick in the draft, but he was drafted by the Chargers. The giants drafted philip rivers then traded him for eli manning.

i guess it is a minor technicality but as a sport announcer for a broadcast network during the playoffs you should have your shit together.

^^ the announcer said that the giants goofed by picking eli for the 1st pick instead of ben or philip or someone else. when the 1st pick was the giants in the first place and the chargers drafted eli.

btw i'm glad the giants lost. i don't like eli manning. he is a big cry baby and bitched about being drafted by the chargers in 2004. Now in 2006 the chargers is pretty much the best team in the NFL and eli is a underacheiver

but the giants did pick eli in teh draft and the giants didn't even make the 1st pick. they only got eli after drafting rivers and then trading for manning with the chargers.

They said eli was not living up to being the first pick of the draft. He was and always will be the first pick of the draft that year no matter who traded for him or trades for him in the future. They didn't say the giants drafted him if you look back at your first post even you don't say that.

I really think the NY sports media damages their teams chances.

The ridiculous amount of pressure they put on players makes some of them underperform.

A-rod is a good example of this as is Eli.

I mean call him a baby and a shitty QB or whatever.... but if you have a guy who is a little soft and you just rip him to shreds every week, he's going to perform worse than what he would have otherwise.

Its ridiculously counterproductive.

Then 3 picks later they made a trade with the Chargers to get Eli Manning in return for Phillip Rivers and a other draft picks in that draft. One of those was another first round pick for the Roids boy Linebacker.
