I would but i don't think i can afford it. I mean a track weekend isn't bad but a track event that goes from Feb. 23rd into non existant calender days is insane!

haha yeah i'll go :-P

So this in Feb instead of CMP in Feb? and then Road Atlanta in March? I will be in Florida during the Sebring event in June...isn't that near Miami or am i thinking of another track entirely?

You pick on the typo for the date, yet you didn't notice that this event is not in conflict w/the CMP event? They're two weeks apart...

Why limit yourself to only one event per month? You live once, fun times are good to have.

I don't know, it'd have to be a toss up between CMP and VIR for you. VIR is closer, and it feels great to feel great about a track, but on the other hand you've been there three times in a row, and it never hurts to try new tracks. I have to be there for NASA, so I don't have a choice. I'm still considering CMP but I don't even know if I'll have a car, so I'm very much undecided about that.

Um, Dan, sign up NOW plz. Don't you want to see what all the NASA hype's about?

I'm assuming this is another event that won't allow S2000's without a roll cage, right?

She's a weekend driver, not to be hacked up to make a track whore.

If I find a good deal on a more sporty e30 I might buy it as the DD/trackrat and sell my current beater.

Yeah, but I already own one that I can sell to trade up.

Mine was $Edgecombe County. I'd consider selling it for $Nash County and putting the money towards one that is $Wake County if the right vehicle came along. I'm in no hurry though. I've got to get some vehicles out of my driveway first anyway.

I've got an e30, Jeep Wrangler, and a Honda S2000. I'll probably sell the Wrangler this spring when it warms up and everyone wants one. Or I might pick up a boat, sell the Wrangler, sell the S2000, and upgrade the e30 to something with better handling and a 5-speed as a DD.

Either way I'd like to get to 1 or 2 cars. We have 5 cars here now between two people and I don't want to bring home another one. I'd like to get another roommate at some point too, so it would help to cut down on the number of cars before anyone else moves in.

Nothing is for sale right now, but if I sell the e30 I'll let you know. It's a good runner. The timing belt broke a couple of years ago, so it got new rocker arms, intake and exhaust valves, and head gasket. Plus the tires, rotors, and pads all have about 15k miles. I'd like to get about 15k more miles out of it as a beater and then sell it unless plans change.

I sent an e-mail out a week ago to Kirk Racing in Birmingham, a custom cage/bar builder a lot of people recommended. Time to hack my shit up, lol. Can't wait to track my S2000.

Why? What do you suggest? There's no good prefab aftermarket solution.

While kirk isn't pre-fab for alot of their bars, they're not customer either. That was the point I was trying to make. They just fab bars on customer orders- just typically not to custom specs.

[Edited on January 11, 2007 at 12:18 AM. Reason : I've had kirk bars in two of my cars, just as a btw]

Ah, thanks for the information. I'm new to this, so I'm just shopping around. Whoever does this bar, if they can reproduce it, there would probably be a lot of interest in it. There's a lot of S2000 drivers ready to take this step as they get older/cheaper.

I won't be towing it to the track at first, and will still be using it for things like the Dragon a lot, so I don't wanna go full stripped interior yet, but it'll probably happen eventually.

The homeland security department will start investigating people who are not signing up for this event by next week according to CNN.
