Anyone know of a way to get rid of the super annoying pop-up that happens when you're replying to a text and someone else texts you? It's driving me fucking insane.

My 6+ came in early! I've had it since thursday & I'm really super happy with it. Some people were warning me that it's just too big but I think it's great. My Zoogue case still hasn't come in so I picked up a super cheap silicone type one from the verizon store that actually isn't bad at all.

Went and played with a 6/6+ in the store yesterday. Definitely a solid device. Although my first impression of the screen was "wow everything is so blurry". After having a 5.5" phone with a 2560 by 1440 display anything lower than that looks fuzzy.

I know you're our resident resolution snob, but I really find it next to impossible to believe that you can tell the difference between a 2560 by 1440 and a 1920 by 1080 screen at only 5.5 inches. Unless you have microscopes for eyes, I'm just not buying it.

That was my first impression looking at the iPhone 6+.

The iPhone 6+ has a 401 DPI. My G3 has a DPI of 534. That's a ~33% increase in pixels/sq inch. So yes it's pretty easy to tell the difference.

Not something most people would notice if they didn't already have a higher resolution phone. When you stare at a 5.5" screen for an hour+ a day then look at a same size screen with that many fewer pixels than it's not hard to tell the difference.

If you happen to have a Galaxy Note 2 sitting around (or any other 720p 5.5" phone) hold that up against an iPhone 6+. The iPhone 6+ has exactly the same DPI % increase (33%) coming from the Galaxy Note 2. You'll notice a huge difference. I know the difference decreases the higher DPI you go but it was easy enough for me to tell.

--I mean if you look at in terms of pixels that's a ~78% increase in pixels going from 1920 by 1080 to 2560 by 1440. Pretty easy for the eye to distinguish.

---Finally yes I take pride in being a resolution snob. Back in 2004 when I got my college laptop it was a Dell 15" at 1920 by 1200. Everyone said having that high resolution on a laptop was stupid. Same thing with the early smart phones that took the step from 320 by 480 to 720 by 480. Everyone thought it was a gimmick. Now we're all about "retina" and "5k" screens.

The technology to really take advantage of high res screens wasn't really prevalent back in 2004. Windows, to this day, still has some odd glitches when it's using display scaling. High res screens weren't a waste back then, but the benefits were nothing like what the benefits are today for "retina" displays.

Apple is already asking developers to start making scalar images in higher res sizes than 2x, so i'm sure they'll jump to an even higher resolution at some point, but in the past, they didn't tend to make these changes until they were ready for them to be taken advantage of. You saw Xcode pushing dynamic layouts in the runup to the iPad Mini and the new iPhones; this is just how Apple does things.

Rest assured, when apple bumps up to a higher res screen, it will be the best looking screen at that point, because they would have given developers time to upgrade their graphics, and done their own optimization to make sure it shines.

See, this is the part that I just don't believe. At some point numbers cease to be meaningful. I just feel like, for normal people with normal eyes, we've reached that point. I know I can barely tell the difference between 720p and 1080p sitting on my couch, and I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference between 400DPI and 500 from a foot away.

Well, it looks better than my 5 did, so I'm happy. I have noticed some apps have been updated to accommo the larger screen, while some just scale everything including text up. I assume as time goes on, those developers will update their apps too. I guess.

I'd have to disagree. The majority of what I was doing in 2004 was playing games and watching HD videos. I can most definitely tell you playing source engine in 2004/5 at 1920 by 1200 was awesome.

Just because the operating system wasn't optimized for higher DPI screens doesn't mean you couldn't take advantage of it. Running a browser at 125% worked great back then and the text and images were waaaay clearer than other laptops running at 720p.

To each his own. I have better than 20/20 in each eye. I can easily tell the difference between 720p/1080p/4k on a ~55" TV sitting on a coach. That's easy.

As far as the phone goes. To my earlier point my LG G3 has 78% more pixels. It's quite easy to see that at 1 foot. It doesn't take better than perfect vision to see that.

Maybe you need glasses? I don't know. Other people seem to be able to easily tell the difference too (reading reviews online).

Again you aren't coming from the same experience. I've had a phone with that high DPI for months now. Looking at a lower resolution phone with that many fewer pixels the blurriness was the first thing I noticed. Maybe if I hadn't had my current phone and looked at an iPhone 6+ I wouldn't have noticed it but the fact is I did. You can't really debate that unless you've had the same experience (which you haven't).

So I ordered a 6+ a few weeks ago, I forgot that when I was there, I received a "loyalty" promotion where they would double my data for free, or just take $20 off my monthly bill, just for being a loyal customer.

I believe it's been about 10 years that I've been with Verizon. Does anyone know of other loyal programs/upgrades Verizon offers as years progress?

we also got that "2GB/mo bonus" with our pre-order and have yet to get it approved. we've called customer service three times and each time they've said they have to get it approved through promotions or something. the best they've done is add 500MB

I traded in my iPhone 5 through the mail with Verizon for that $200 promotion. They sent me shipping materials after I placed my order for my 6+. I shipped my old phone using their stuff on Oct 31. According to the website, they still haven't received it...

We used Gazelle.com for the iphone 5 that belonged to another coworker on the same account. I shipped his phone on monday (2 days ago), they have already evaluated it & are mailing a check.

Should I call Verizon to check on mine? It's a pain in the ass to explain anything to them over the phone. Or should I just wait a little longer? They have to have it by Dec 15th for the deal to be valid or whatever. Ftr, this is a business account of which I am the manager, with 10 lines (8 iphones, 2 ipads).

Need some help here.

My iPhone 4s crapped out this summer when I tried to install one of the new updates. All it will do is tell me to connect to iTunes, but I can't. I've lost the laptop that I always used to update that phone. Any way to get out of this problem? I tried downloading iTunes on a different computer and connecting to my phone but nothing happens.

I need to get this phone working so I can get full trade in value.

Just got a 6+. It's big, but i already couldn't go back. I even finding it easier for reading books in bed, lighter and easier to position at weird angles, etc.

VainGlory is pretty sweet, too.

6 days later, I don't know how I ever lived with a smaller phone. It's a real joy to use something that's so much easier to type on and view.

I've stated before that there's no way in hell I'd get a 6+ given it's mammoth size.

However, a couple of colleagues have been trying to sell me on it, and the point that's got me reconsidering my position is that the battery life is ridiculous. my single biggest annoyance is the insufficient battery life on my current 5. i'm told the 6 isn't noticeably longer than the 5/5s, but the 6+ is.

interested in anecdotes from those that have the 6+, especially those who were put off by the size at first.

What about how it fits in a pocket-- for dudes who don't wear skinny jeans?

the battery life was the biggest driver for me and i've been very happy about it - i have this weird fear about my battery dying on my phone and i haven't had to worry since i got it

finally ordered my new 6. small Christmas bonus and finally fed up with the battery life on my 5. i was having to charge it 3 times a day. With apps like snapchat taking my battery from 90% to 40% in a matter on minutes. Couldn't make it a night out without it dying or getting critically low. it was ridiculous.

The battery life is fucking awesome. Granted I came from an iPhone 5 to this 6+, but I used to leave work with 20-30% if I didn't plug my phone in at all. Now I leave with around 75-80%.

I'm a girl, so my pants have girl "pockets". Quotations bc they're not really pockets. I carry the phone in my purse but sometimes do put it in a pocket to walk across the office or to the restroom or whatever. I can cram it into most pants pockets. I have one pair of khakis that it won't go into, bc that pocket is seriously only 2" deep. So given that men's pants pretty much always have real pockets, I wouldn't be worried about it at all.

I am going to upgrade next week and I was all set on the 6 but now reading the last few posts I am feeling a bit tempted by the 6 plus. The only thing I am worried about is the size of the damn thing. I don't wear skinny jeans or anything close so it would fit in my pockets fine but I could see it getting in the way when I am at the gym (I leave my phone in my pocket and listen to music). Anyone have the 6 plus and not like the size?

I have an ipad mini so I don't think I really need the bigger screen but then again I don't carry my ipad around all the time either.

I like the features of the 6 Plus, but it is definitely big and obnoxious. I wish there was an iPhone that was midway between the 6 and 6 plus tbh, but I'm happy with the phone overall. I just don't really leave it in my pockets unless I'm walking somewhere.

The thickness of a phone is going to determine how cumbersome a phone fits into your pocket more than the width and height. At roughly 7mm / .3" thick, a 6+ might feel less bulky in your pocket than an iPhone 3GS

The only complaint I have with the 6 plus is it's pretty much so impossible to get out of my pocket when I'm driving. I've had to adjust to making sure that I take my phone out of my pocket and lay it on the seat next to me when I get in my truck, but aside from that I love the size. I can't imagine going back to a smaller device now, and any time I hold an older iPhone it feels almost comically small.

I've deleted and cleared like everything possible off my iPhone and read all the websites saying how to free up space and have done all that and it still says I'm using 9 gigs worth of space. Any idea what's using that up? When I plug into computer it just shows a huge chunk being used up by "other." No apps or music or video taking up any significant space.

I mean how big could that really be? Says I'm using 9.3 GB and when I look at usage my messages is my biggest user at 390mb, then email at 300, and from there a bunch of apps that are 100 mb and less. Is the iOS really using up 7gigs?

Just seems like I got something hogging up all the space...

Done that. Biggest thing is 400 and 300 mb.

Everything else is like 20-100 mb and not enough to come close to 9 gigs.

Something I didn't realize was that with one of the iOS 8 updates they added a "Recently Deleted" folder in your photos. I was confused as to why deleting photos didn't free up any space, you have to go in there & clear them out. Kind of like the recycle bin.

Wasn't worth managing my space on my 16 gig 5, so I got the 64 gig 6.

Making the $100 upgrade an extra 48 gigs instead of an extra 16 gigs like previous iphones made it less of a huge ripoff, so I was actually willing to spend the money this time.

I'm still loving the 6+. I wear stylish/normal jeans (banana republic straight fit) and it fits in my pocket fine. I am more conscious of it being there though than with my old 5S. At first i wasn't sure if the pocket thing would be doable, but now i do it all the time and its fine. I just had to get used to feeling it.

It's weird, it now looks like a perfectly normal phone in my hand. It looks like an iphone to me. At first it looks huge, but you get over it.

I just got back from a road trip and having the 6+ on a mount over the dash was awesome. navigation was very clear and easy to see. Also much easier to touch accurately while driving which was nice for messing with music apps, etc.

bobbydigital, you should get the 6+, you have two weeks to try it out and return/exchange it for a 6 if you decide its too big.

is the glass on the 6 better in terms of fingerprint resistance than the 5? My 5 ended up turning into a smudgy mess not too long after having it. Not sure if my hands are particularly more oily than most or if the screen was just lacking. Wondering if I should get some kind of screen shield for the 6 to prevent this from happening again.

To the user who has all the space and nothing using it. This has happened to me twice. Took to Apple store and they fixed it. Basically a virus. Also, for those who know, what is the best deal to get rid of my I phone 5S and get with a new carrier and get a 6? I absolutely HATE att and am ready for a new phone. Any suggestions welcome.

After a bunch of back and forth I went ahead and got the 6+. I figure worst case scenario I can trade someone later for a 6 but I have a feeling I am going to love it. After using a 5 for two years and a 4 for two years before that the screen size change is going to be incredible.

So in the past few weeks I have noticed my 5 having a lot of issues with apps crashing. Some crash randomly, but often and some wont even open now they just immediately crash. This includes things like Facebook, Apple Maps, The Weather Channel, and a few others. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall and that hasnt helped any of them. Any suggestions or do I need to just backup and restore the phone? I am probably gonna upgrade to a 6+ in a few weeks so if thats what it takes I likely wont worry about it.

Yeah I thought about that but I have 6 gig free so shouldnt be an issue. I am assumig its something hosed in the OS seeing as I can uninstall and reinstall an app and it still crashes before it even opens.
