umm its a mopar so all factory small blocks were 2-bolt.
im building it for my 73 Duster footbrake/bracket car
11:1 340, eddy heads and manifold, .544 comp cam, 1 3/4 headers
hopefully it gets me to around 7.50s in the 1/8th

Drag racing, oh how I miss thee.

Was just talking with Mr Digtl today about a 7.80s in the 1/4 (4.90s in the 1/8) ride that I could be manning on a weekend basis if I lived back home.

Thank god you weren't serious about the civic. Good luck with the duster.

yea 11's are my goal for starters. isnt 11.99/7.50 the cutoff for a rollcage at most tracks, the car doesnt have one and wont untill necessary

Wouldn't it have helped to put the timing cover on BEFORE you bolted the oil pan up?

btw, i'm shooting for roughly the same goals on mine. i'll be sticking with my J heads though, which already have alot of port/polish work in them. it was already a low-mid 8 sec. 1/8th mile car on 275 street tires. a basic freshning of the bottom end, a cam/intake/carb change and a pair of dr's should get me the gains i'm looking for (high 7's/deep 12's).

oh, you only need what, 100+ extre cubes to do it? hell, you'll probably have to rebuild it AGAIN after the 1st pass.

make your changes. we'll set a date for the early spring sometime and run them.

not sure off hand. i would guess closer to 3500 though. plus mine has subframes, bulletproof bellhousing, and a full case locker that probably adds another 100lbs. or so total.

it still retains the full interior, etc. and most oem equipment right down to the gay bumperette things. the only weight adjustments are no trunk carpeting, spare tire/jack, and a battery relocation. doesn't have a stereo or speakers either.

the slant 6 duster weighed 2825lbs, we can assume the 340 weighed in at 3000

72 cutlass with 455? 3731lbs.

yea my shits gonna be full new interior that came with the car(- back seat)
2x3 subframe connectors and the mopar 3" spring relocation with SS springs, 8 3/4 with 3.91 sure-grip and a full manual reverse 727 auto. got a fuel cell and electric fans and some junk like that. if that dont get me in rollcage territority ill throw a 100 shot or so at it and still drive it to morresville with the slicks in the trunk. just need the $$ to finish the body and rebuild the frontend.
