this may be a very dumb question, but i don't want to mess anything up when i'm doing this. i'm trying to change the rotor button on my car and i can't figure out how to get the old one off. i took out the retaining screw and can look at the new part, but i'm not sure if it just pulls straight out or twists or what. if anyone could offer some constructive advice it would be appreciated. i've included some pictures as well for reference. the service manual doesn't mention the part either.

this is the new part

old part on the engine

thanks for the help

take a flat screwdriver and carefully pry it off after you take the screw out, they get rusted on sometimes

Yep...had a '94 Honda Civic EX roll up at the house one night, inside of the dizzy was rusted to hell. I had to take the whole distributor off and pry the old rotor off with two prybars.
