This man also has infinitely more ACC Regular season and/or ACC Tournament championships, than the Wolfpack has had since 1990.

Hersh, I'm just saying over majority of the last two decades, I'd rather have the accomplishments of what odom did in this conference than our own, any normal fan can understand this. The "infinitely" part means we've won ZERO reg. seasons or acc tournaments. But I also forgot the cardinal sin of this website, most people start paying attention to college sports when they get to college, and not a minute before, and are experts by fall break of their freshman year.

Was Odom the coach there when Randolph Childress went nuts during that one ACC tourny? Did they win the ACC that year?

Yes, Childress's over 100 point effort and an ACC tournament record for point total over the three day weekend was spectacular (I think it was like 107= 35/game), but obviously Duncan was the real reason so says everyone on here, at least the real people that know sports say this, you know, the ones that started watching sports a year ago. Childress Lighting up Stackhouse and Wallace like a Christmas tree was indeed special

sorry guy, but people implying Duncan was the only player on that team leads one to believe they either have a very shaky memory, or have no clue

Why the hell did Odom leave Wake anyway? SC is a horrible school to coach at unless it's baseball.

Odom left wake for about the same reasons Herb left State.

They helped him pack his bags after failing to get past the Elite 8 with Tim Duncan. At that point, the fans pretty much realize he wasn't going to take them anywhere

Just becuase he was the first one mentioned doesn't mean he was the only player we remember. Duncan was just one of the greats in ACC (And NCAA) history. Childress was a good player, but he didn't have nearly the accolades of Duncan.

We're definitely 'on the bubble' for the NIT. It would be nice to get in but it's probably a longshot right now with the new rules and whatnot. The NCAA owns it now so they do it on merit and not on revenue potential...

As it stands we are 112th in the RPI (bad ooc schedule coupled with a VERY BAD loss to an absolutely putrid Cincy team) which probably isn't good enough on it's own. It comes down to how many upsets there are in the smaller conference tourneys. The less there are, the better our chances or getting to the NIT.

Also, if we do make it, we likely won't get any home games as it is -- once again -- based on seeding and not amount of tickets to be sold..

but i think they will also look at the fact that atsur missed half the season and with him we are a better team. he didnt play in 6 or 7 of our losses.

While Childress did have the bum knee, it's still tough to fathom how Rusty LaRue hung around the NBA for years and he didn't cut it.
