I am in the process right now of building a kitchen table.
Here's two places though. Capitol is closer, but more expensive. Lowe's & Home Depot have a small selection of S4S Red Oak as well, but are more expensive.

There also is American Hardwoods up Hillsborough St., but they don't have a website to view selections.

Fuck capitol city lumber. They charge out the ass. The guys there are pretty nice, but seriously, why should we pay 30-50% more because they are too cheap to move into a modern facility.

Best local place by far. Plus they give either 10 or 15% off for students with ID, at least they did before we opened a commercial account with them.

well I have some cedar logs at my house (in Roxboro) if you want to buy them for $50 - I think we have 8 or so that are 8 ft long, and cedar makes pretty furniture 1/21/2007 4:00:41 PM |

Speaking of which, does anyone know if any of these place (or others) have table legs? 1/23/2007 11:41:04 PM |
arcgreek All American 26690 Posts user info edit post |
Becuase it would make sense pre cut table legs when the furniture market is continously changing and their patrons (the places listed are not home depot) are more geared towards those producing custom items. 1/24/2007 12:04:40 AM |

Well it was an idea. I just wanted to see what was available. I decided to just go with basic legs though.
And Raleigh Hardwood sucks. I looked there & their selection sucked. They had hardly any red oak. 1/24/2007 7:08:48 PM |
