Yes, it should have been in the lounge. Yes, most of TWW is aware of what a bitter troll you are.
As far as the programs being an embarassment...climb back under your rock.

She never said she did.
But for future reference, some of the TXMs do end up working in automotives, and telling the engineers that fabrics a, b, and c are all suitable selections for the end use the engineers have specified.
You are one hell of a glutton for punishment, what with the constant talking out of your ass when you are totally clueless.

the art to wear show is open to the public. it's usually in The Pit, on east campus, near Brooks, etc. But since they're doing construction, it's gonna be elsewhere.
anyway, it's college of design and college of textile students who design lines of clothing to be in it. 1/21/2007 3:59:59 PM |

You know, as awesome as I'm sure the Textile Engineering is, I remember distinctly attending a free-food event back home where the NCSU Textile Engineering department was practically begging anyone in an honors class to consider Textile Engineering. Of course, after my mom was laid off from her accounting job at a textiles factory, and another friend of mine's dad bailed from textiles, I sort of got the impression that it was moving off-shore. I'm glad they found someone to fill the seats, though. 1/21/2007 4:01:25 PM |

Ya know why they recruit so hard? Because TE and PCC have 100% job placement rates at graduation. I think one of the two dips as low as 98% some years.
Sorry to hear about your mom...but as far as most manufacturing jobs, they're all moving off-shore. And that was seen coming for a long time.1/21/2007 4:04:11 PM |

You guys seem to be making dresses a lot more than you're studying polymer chemistry, can you explain that seeming discrepancy between what you profess to study and what it appears to an outside observer that you actually study? 1/21/2007 4:06:17 PM |
eahanhan All American 21370 Posts user info edit post |
because there are different degree programs - Textile Engineering, Polymer and Color Chemistry, Textile Technology, and Textile Management.
yeah, we're working on apparel and fabric design, but that's not the only dimension to textiles. Or to our degree. We take marketing and business classes, TT classes, a PCC class, etc. We learn a little bit of it all.] 1/21/2007 4:07:19 PM |

"you guys"...we're mostly female over there (I'm sure that's part of your problem), and some of us will graduate without ever taking a design class or having to make a dress (WEEEEEEE)
two...a bitter douchebag with a chip on his shoulder sees what he wants to see. if you're not willing to recognize that not everyone at CoT is in the fashion design concentration, STFU.

I wouldn't consider the basic chem and physics classes we take hard sciences, but a majority of the non-TE and PCC majors still are not in the design concentration.
You have no clue what the fuck you're talking about and you've made that clear.

I'm not saying everyone is in the fashion design concentrations, you stupid fucking bitch, I'm saying I wouldn't care if you were posting about fucking kevlar or some other material with incredibly interesting properties. However, it seems that you're posting, once again, about some stupid fucking fashion design bullshit that nobody AT ALL except approximately 3 fat chicks and 3 vapid cunts on this entire site give a shit about.

As much as I don't like fashion design, to say no one cares about it, or that the kids coming out the textile school as fashion kids are going to end up on welfare and worthless is just absolutely stupid.
Hell, I personally know 10-15 kids who graduated from textiles and are banking well over 60-75k a year doing fashion work all over the place. I know of three kids who are doing their own design work. And then you have Holly Aiken who is nationally known now, and only a few years out of school.
YOU might not appreciate or see the value in fashion design, but the reality is it's a multi-billion dollar industry that isn't going anywhere anytime soon. 1/21/2007 5:03:11 PM |
