^Probably so, but the Raiders don't have an option right now. They're the worst team in football. Al Davis should make a trade to either get Vick (which has been rumored) or draft someone like Russell or Quinn, trade Moss & Porter away, and get some linemen on both sides. They were the number one pass defense in the league last year. If they can fix the offense and the run D, they would be a good team.

no one put more than 34 points up against them all season. also, consider the fact that the defense played well over half of the game because the offense didn't produce in a single game.

the offense was utterly horrible, and it's one thing to hear the espn talking heads discuss it, but it's another thing to watch the games. for the first three games, they didn't call a single screen pass despite constant pressure on the qb. the shotgun formation was rarely used, despite the fact that it obviously takes longer for the defense to get to qb's out of the shotgun.

if the raiders get average to slightly above average production from their offense next season, they'll make the playoffs with this defense.
