I need to buy a roof rack for my boat. Of the two major outfitters I've been associated with, one sold Thule and the other Yakima. Does anyone have one of these (for a bike perhaps?) Are you pleased with it? What do you like or dislike?

only ever used a yakima...i use mine for my snowboard, no complaints...a friend of mine just recently took his yakima bike rack off...he had it on there for about 5 years...very durable

i can sell you either one (REI), the only real difference between the two is how it looks. otherwise they are basically the same as far as quality goes

im currently using thule but have used yakima in the past

Yakima=round

Thule=square

Go for the one tha tis cheaper although I would prolly go Thule cause they seem to be built a little better and the square bars look a little nicer.

round bars probably won't make as much noise. I use Yaks.

I have a Yak rack. Absolutely love it.

I'd go with what's cheaper, however.

I have had Thule in the past and never had any issues. I think that both are probably as good as one another.
