I went to see this last Friday was really surprised. It's a great movie. The characters were well-developed and balanced. No one seemed wholly good or downright evil, which I thought might happen, especially since it's a musical.

Won a couple of Golden Globes, including best supporting actor and actress and best picture (musical or comedy). Anyone else seen this?

It's hard to build a bad movie around the greatest jilted lover sequence in the history of Broadway.

i think it actually won best supporting actor and actress, eddie murphy and jennifer hudson, along with best comedy or musical.

i want to see it, and i'm glad to hear from someone else that it's not just hype, etc making it sound good. i like the soundtrack a lot, so i'm gonna try to see it soon, even before it heads to the $1.50 theater!
