So can I just go up to the American Airlines terminal and throw some cash on the counter?

I mean, what is the best way to do it? And don't give me no "Orbitz!" shit either...I can't imagine how that is any less expensive considering how much marketing they invest in. And if expedia <singing> dot cooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmm! really is the best way to go, tell me how they can afford to sell the tickets less expensive than the airline.

i definitely think i'm biased towards your posts because of the constant shit you spew

can you do anything on your own

the easiest way is NOT to drive to the airport unless you MUST pay in cash

There is no catch, you should buy it.

you might as well buy them online, you arent going to get some great deal elsewhere and it is convenient.

[Edited on January 24, 2007 at 8:56 PM. Reason : most of those sites seem to have similar prices anyways]

The cheapest fares are online because they don't require people to process. It's generally same/cheaper from Orbitz or other resellers because they take less margin. Something that you can do is check orbitz, kayak or whatever to check for lowest prices and then go to the website of the cheapest airline's price and see if they beat it directly.

One thing that orbitz and the others can provide are cheap itineraries across multiple unrelated carriers.

Now go turn on the basketball game.

p.s. you can go to the airline and drop cash, but you will pay the highest fare (for the reason stated above) and you will get SSSS across your boarding passes. If you don't know what that means now, you will when you go to clear security.

i fly at least once a month. online is certainly the easiest, as there's no certainty a seat will be available on the flight you're trying to get on if you wait to get a ticket at the terminal. depending on the destination and airport you're trying to fly out of, it could be a long wait for the next flight. if there is a spot available, expect to pay literally between 5 and 10 times what it would have cost you had you booked it two days earlier.

but whatever, its your time/money.

Honestly, I've gotten better prices directly from the airline's website.

has anyone tried http://www.studentuniverse.com?

I took a look at it and some of the prices didn't seem that cheap.

i use cheaptickets.com then find the same info on the individual airlines' websites - prices are usually the same though.
