Put your car in Jamie's name. That should fix it.

Just curious. Anybody ever heard of having an interlock on a motorcycle?

NC went super hardcore against drunk driving. There's absolutely no reason to drive drunk. Sorry you had shit happen to you but you could have called a cab, or a friend, or use the free service ncstate has for students who are drunk (forget the name).

If you're not a student... drink a bunch of water and pee. Wait 2 hours and then go home. IF you are still too drunk, fall asleep in your car. Wake up and remember next time to make sure you have a way home.

There's just not a good reason anymore. That's why you guys get interlock.

not to be picky but its .16
not 1.6
above .30 most people start to go unconscious

to start your car you have to blow into the device and also punch a few buttons in certain order on the device. Every 10 or 15 minutes the older devices use to make you keep blowing into it. And if you didn't the horn on your car would start honking I assume to get law enforcement's attention. I don't know how the technology has changed today though.

you also can't drive a car that doesn't have one equipped or you're considered NOL I believe.

the new ones make you do a combination of things.

suck and then blow.

hum and then blow.

etc...

but it does still honk and flash lights if you try to trick it or it thinks you are trying to tamper with it.

it records everything.

drinking a bunch of water and pissing isn't gonna do much for you.

you can also get a DUI while asleep in your car (i know personally of 2 cases of this)...the cops can come wake you up and give you a DUI. it doesn't matter if the car is even running. there have even been some cases (including one I know of) where the keys weren't even in the ignition. you can thank some stupidass MADD lobbyists and idiot cops/judges with no sensibility.

actually...

the other night i turn around to call the police on this guy who drove across the opposite lanes over the curb and onto the grass to fall asleep because he was drunk.

cop told me, that they cannot charge him because the car was off when he arrived, but that i am the only witness.

sooooo............. yeah, you can fight it. but its gonna be hard.

I know a girl that got a DWI on a horse. And a guy that got a DWI on a riding lawnmower. Do they make interlocks for those?

well I guess the upside to being drunk on a horse is you might just get lost. in a car you might die.

If your drunk enough to suck on a horse you dont need to be driving it.

World leaders in history have died fucking with horses like that. Kinda why I thought there might be some interlock, modern technology and all, to prevent such tragedies.

on a side note, I wonder if they have locks for a horse like bikes so when you hitch it up, they don't wander off.

my roommate has one now. he blew a .16 I believe.

turn the car on, wait for the machine to warm up

blow for a few seconds, wait for the beep saying you are ok to drive

then it will beep at random intervals and you have to blow for a few seconds while driving or the car will shut down (after you've had time to pull over)

yea, after getting the thing installed and calibrated every so often, costs about a grand or so.
