How would that have changed the face of college basketball? Specifically, UNC, Dean Smith and the 4 corners offense?

Who would be considered the dominating face of college basketball?

We wouldn't have won that game against Houston, that's for damn sure.

:43 possession ftw!

i think he means how the game would've been affected had the 4 corners never been implemented, ie how different teams may've done in earlier years with a shot clock

Once again, how the fuck could anyone know?

The 12-10 game wouldn't have happened. That's all I know for sure.

This reminds me of the movie Hoosiers at the end when the predominantly black team just needs to hold the ball and run out the clock to win the game. Spike Lee criticized this part of the movie b/c he thought it would help lend itself to reinforcing racial stereotypes. I thought to myself, Spike did you even actually watch the movie? One of the biggest mistakes was made by one of the white players on that team when he decided to put up a low percentage jump shot from out near the top of the key. All the guy needed to do was keep passing the stupid ball.

yeah it was 45 in the college game when it was first implemented. i saw an old college basketball game from the 80's on ESPN Classic one day and they were using a 45 second shot clock.

Just so you retards know, we later adapted a style of the 4 corners offense with DT in middle called the "tease" offense.

35 is still too long

If you can't put up a shot in 30 seconds then the D has done it's job

24 seems about right

^^I disagree. Especially at the college level.

Run-and-gun without professional athletes sucks. Might as well go to your local Y and watch a bunch of 8-year-olds.

The WNBA just started using a 24 second shot clock (too much time on the ol' Wiki)

And I guess I would like to consider the face of college basketball with simply the 35-second shot clock. None of the 45-second SC until the last 4 minutes of the game BS.

Anyway, this discussion has been awesome. Thanks for taking a gander into the philosophical side of basketball.
