I have a 1994 Mazda MX6 and a 1994 Park Avenue and I am looking for a reliable, honest mechanic to work on my vehicle. As a female I have been screwed over more times than I care to remember. For this reason I took an auto mechanics course at Wake Tech so 90% of the time I know what it wrong with my car even though I may not have the technical ability to fix it. I have been turned off from "corporate mechanics" because on too many occassions I have taken my car in and have known what was wrong and they try to get over on me because I am a woman. The transmission on the Mazda was replaced in July.

These are the known/suspected problems with the Mazda:
Axles need to be replaced
Suspect the brake pads need to be replaced
VC Gasket Cover need to be replaced
Oil Change
Fuel Injection cleaned
Check engine light stays on

Known/suspected problems with the Park Avenue:
Starter
Fuel injection cleaned
Brake pads

Probably just throw in a can of FUEL injection cleaner. Any suggestions on good ones?

I'd like someone with access to computer diagnostics because I want a complete diagnosis (mechanical, electrical, etc.) on both vehicles

^lol, for real

it's great you a took a class to educate yourself on some things, but i assure you that you don't know "90% of the time what's wrong". it takes years of learning in addition to hands on experience to be able to consistently diagnose problems correctly on a vehicle.

just an fyi, you may want to consult a professional before you just decide things are wrong with your cars because you took a class. hopefully that's also why you're looking for a mechanic, not just someone to do the work.

Jesus Christ. When will the useless comments cease? If you're a mechanic and you're looking for some side work hit me up. If you're an asshole with too much time on your hands please fuck off. If you read the post you'd see I said SUSPECTED problems with the car which means based in my limited knowledge those are the things I think are wrong with it so I'm looking for someone to either confirm that or reject my hypothesis. I'm not really looking for an evaluation of my car knowledge or for someone to dispute how much I may know about cars. Thanks!

quit being a bitch. you've only gotten good advice/help in this thread, which is more than i can say for 99% of the threads on tww. if you want to take offense to it, that's your damn problem.

you just lost the help of 2 of the handful of people in here that actually have real world professional experience because you want to be an ass. just because some fool has a socket set and a jack doesn't make them a competent mechanic.

have fun still getting screwed over and misguided with your car repairs.

I used to love those customers, they come in and tell you whats wrong and what to fix, so you do, and they get pissed cause its still doing the same shit. Then you explain to them what is actually wrong and how many times you tried to tell them that and they get pissed off, but end up paying you for shit that may not have been needed, and then for what was actually needed.

hehe

even better is the customers who come back saying something you already fixed is say leaking, so you tell them its warrantied, only to pull it in and you see they have ran over something and tore the oil pan off the car. thats a fun phone call to make.
