I just hate seeing our own students and fans giving up on our teams. We're in a very down year in Wolfpack athletics, but no matter what, we should still support our teams. It's easy to forget why we keep cheering when we only win 3 in football, and sitting near the bottom in the ACC all season in basketball. Basketball isn't over, there is still the ACC tourney, possible NIT, and baseball season about to begin. As members of the wolfpack family, and we cannot give up on our teams, players, coaches, etc. no matter what.

Coach O'Brian was quoted saying that a significant influence in coming to NCSU was what he saw that chilly september night when the improbable happened when we beat BC on a D. Evens prayer. The energy and passion the fans showed in that game has to be our greatest moment since beating #1 Duke at RBC in spring '04.

Other recent memorable moments include
-an overtime TD for the win by T.A. in our 04 homecoming game,
-beating #1 Ga Tech in baseball in extra innings spring '06 after blowing a 5 or 6 run lead (game 2 of a 3 game series, which we won 2 of 3 games),
-and J. Hodge for the game winning layup against UConn in the '05 NCAA tourney (not a home game, obviously, but if you watched the game anywhere around another NCSU fan, you know you were doing some serious celebrating.)

^^agreed, but I would substitute down year for down decade or down generation or something similar.

the "< 1000 posts" rule should be an official sports talk policy (except for fabalus)
