Im really pissed right now because my 04 dodge stratus is sitting outside of a collision shop with no front end on it - it has no hood, no fenders, no esthetics, im waiting for them to paint it - its pouring snow, and my car isnt even covered!! i told the people who run the shop (and this is a huge dodge dealer too) that they needed to cover my car up or put it in the shop, and they said they would, but its still sitting outside with a ton of snow on my fucking motor! is there anything that i can do about this? im really afraid that the snow and ice could fuck up everything and no one will do shit about it. i mean could i sue someone if my computer just fried or something because all that shit got in it?

It will be fine, really. Do you never drive your car in the rain?

I don't think I've ever driven in the rain with no hood on my car.

but with freezing rain, couldnt it mess up something?
I understand that its kinda trivial but I mean, its a what if issue? If moisture gets into the censors and all of the unhooked parts and they hook them back up and poof they blow, I can't replace them. They are telling me they aren't liable.

and yes Im complaining about it being naked - I dont think icicles would be hanging from my lines if the hood was on it

nothing like that will happen.

you have nothing to worry about.

dude. it will be fine, ever notice how cars in the junkyard are half naked in the snow and rain all time, yet we still harvest parts from them? thats because its fine, unless they submerge ur car in water up over the intake and then don't drain everything out and replace the fluids before they try to start it, i highly doubt that u will have any problems

wow, some people are just too retarded to grasp common sense, everything there is sealed against moisture, when you drive in the rain, water splashes up into the engine compartment and blows through the radiator and soaks everything anyway

maybe you people think im an idiot but ALL OF MY WIRES ARE UNDONE! Moisture can get inside of them, sparks came out of my fucking battery when they cranked up my car to move it, which then made the car feel like it was surging -So am I a fucking idiot?

On top of that, I have ICE inside of the wires that connect to my headlights, I guess they are gonna dry them out with a blowdryer before they are connected right?

ummm I owe 13k on my car and Ive never had any problems with it other than being hit by a 15 year old once and an idiot doing a u-turn another time - theres no way I can sell it without losing 4k+ and thats not gonna happen, its still covered under warranty for 100k miles

yeah it may be a dodge stratus but would you like to buy me something better? im sorry but im not fucking into racing or showing off a god damn car, i like something for comfort and one day when i have a family i'll have somewhere to sit them instead of riding around in a convertible tiny car trying to be someone 10 years younger than i really am having 5 people in 2 seats- a car is a fucking car it gets you from place to place, but when others fuck it up then it causes a problem

ice is some pretty dangerous stuff. it'll mess up a car much worse than water, i'd be pissed too...

also, you are correct about the blow drying. all certified collision repair shops located in regions where there is a chance of ice forming during the winter are required to keep a fully functional industrial grade blow dryer in the shop.

^ well at least someone agrees with me, i just dont want to deal with something going wrong on it and having to wait another month to get it fixed, im tired of waiting as it is w/o a rental car because the idiots insurance company wouldnt pay for a rental car and my insurance refused to sue them for one

i dont think i should be liable if something does go wrong with it, because they wouldnt even let me cover the car up with a tarp - i just wanted to keep it safe, just in case

yes thats correct however NC isnt in the "ice belt" so often body techs are forced to use bic lighters and dry them out.

nah man I see why you'd be worried. I mean, it's simple to just cover your car...especially when they said they would. You'll probably be okay, dealers suck though.

JOO ARE BEEG POOSIE.

Listen here, dicksmack. I've got a car that has been sitting outside with NO GODDAMN HOOD OR ANY FRONT-END SHEETMETAL for the last six months. I can get in it and crank it up and it runs like a scalded dog.

A couple of days outside ain't gonna hurt a thing.

Now shaddap and go buy yourself some tampons and a goddamn box of Kleenex.

the car will be fine with ice in the electrical connectors as long as the temp stays below 32*. if the temp rises above 32*, which is the temperature at which H20 turns from a solid to a liquid, then the car will be shot and might as well call a junkyard to pick it up............errr, wait.
