I've worked at several different companies and have seen different styles of application development over the years. I was curious how others are utilizing SDLC in their workplace and possibly any good suggestions, comments, experience, or tips that you have learned and would like to share with others.

I have found flow charting, documentation and commenting code are key elements however again in my exeperience, very different everywhere. I also found BAs and QAs are very useful if directed in the correct manner and correctly interact with the developers and specify scope, implementation, deadlines, and target stakeholders.

The problem I am finding at my current job is many of the BAs and QAs and even some of the developers are more or less former mainframe programmers, vb, etc..and the BAs and QAs were former data entry and what not and just more or less got promoted over time. So many of them don't have true background in how to properly scope out projects and implement them correctly and efficently. So I have been asked to help many of them along and I might not be the best one to do that. I can help some but in some ways, just like technology, I am constantly improving and learning. It's like the somewhat inexperienced is teaching the even more less inexperienced people.
