Saw it last night, thought it was pretty good but nothing great. Johnny Depp definitely made the movie.

i'm interested to see how they turned this into a movie.

in my opinion, the book was sort of lacking a compelling story line (in terms of classic story development) so they obviously had to add / change a bunch to make it into a full-length movie.

i'm excited about seeing it though, the previews make it look pretty entertaining.

Meh. First 2/3 were pretty good. Johnny Depp was great. Had a lot of funny moments. But then the movie trailed off horribly. It just dragged and the ending was weak. Its almost like they were making the movie and didn't know how they wanted to end it. Curious as to how the book ends.

^this was my problem with the book. it didn't really have a solid plot line or ending. thus my confusion as to how it was going to be turned into a successful movie.
