Didn't the university try to put an end to this as far as media use is concerned? I thought a few years ago that the school officially changed to NC State University when the school name was being used in the media. Am I just dreaming or had anyone else heard that?

I just hate the way North Carolina State sounds and looks.

The official name has been "North Carolina State University at Raleigh" since 1965

We just go with NC State to avoid affiliation to UNC, much like Charlotte and Wilmington have done in recent past

No, what they did was change the usage from "NCSU" (which was championed during Fox's term) to "NC State."

Had a lot to do with regaining the image of us as a state institution in order to get funding back during the budget crisis.

i can live with north carolina state, i just believe nc state sounds much better and looks much better on TV and in the newspapers. if they would leave it at nc state then there wouldn't be as many slip ups and us being called "North Carolina"... which yall bitch about as well.

when they changed it from NCSU to NC State, was that when they dropped the "N.C. State" and made it simply NC State?

that girl in the video was correct: pink used to be one of our colors. they of course cut her off, not allowing her to explain that, so that they could laugh. she's a freshman, and i'm suprised as hell she knew that about state. i bet 90% of nc state alumni have no clue about the pink.

^^ of course. farmers, aggies, techs, and my favorite, red terrors. an angry alum back in the 1920's said the students behaved like a pack of wolves at the games. did you know that we actually did use to have a live wolf mascot, and that the demon deacon married mr. and ms. wolf at a basketball game in the late 80's (i think)?
