Are you sure they didn't just copy last years list? It's freaking terrible!

Quote :
"5. Wake Forest – The Demon Deacons have undoubtedly upped their national stature with their recent ACC Championship and Orange Bowl run. Almost every key player is back on offense and a good chunk of the defense returns. The key for Wake Forest will be duplicating the enthusiasm, confidence and momentum from a year ago. Jim Grobe has firmly established himself as one of the best head coaches in all of college football."

Tell me what in that explanation means that they should finish next to last?

They also ranked the most supportive fans. We came in at #4 behind Clemson, Virginia Tech, and Florida State. Well it's easy to support your team when you win as much as those teams usually do.

Quote :
"4. NC State – Wolfpack fans are as passionate as they come in the ACC and have traveled well to bowl games in the past. The NC State faithful held their own against Notre Dame in the Gator Bowl a few years back. League teams generally regard Carter-Finely Stadium as one of the toughest places to play in the conference. State fans are loud, rabid and unafraid to create a hostile environment for those playing their ‘Pack."

They could have at least not used the diamond logo though.

Quote :
"3. Florida State - While Seminole fans have been labeled spoiled and hard to motivate, you can't ignore the national following FSU has. Florida State fills their 82,500 seat stadium to capacity every home Saturday and has fans grouped across the nation. 'Nole fans are consistent and they will always be a strong draw. You can't overlook or ignore the sheer numbers or mass of their fan base. The one knock here is that years of winning have made impressive bowl bids and key games seem commonplace to many fans. They rarely match the enthusiasm of the opposing fans in attendance. "

This was what they wrote when ranking the fan support. They sure had trouble filling it when they started sucking this year. One Seminole fan said on a message board that they probably only had 40k for the game against Troy State.

^^ the authors are pretty much right about the NC schools.

You think Duke or Carolina are gonna stay out of the bottom two in Coastal?

NCState's the only shining beacon in the NC group. Wake's improbable run last year was for the most part because the ACC was incredibly weak this past year.

I would've liked to see them rank ACC fans 1 thru 12. Would've wondered where UNC comes at and who would be 12th among Miami, Wake, and Duke.

By shining beacon i mean double A flashlight beacon.

In comparison we'll be the best NC team, though Butch Davis scares the shit out of me.

Well they must have counted the season tickets into that figure, b/c there were huge spaces of empty seats when I saw highlights of that game.
