http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/subscriptions/mlbtv.jsp

I do this pretty much every year as a PSA. MLB.tv upped the prices a bit but you can still get the lowend version for $89.99 but it's the same as last year (400k) and you don't have access to the New Mosaic (which better be a hellofa lot better than the old).

I purchased the premium one last night for $119.99. It's supposedly going to be double the quality for regular MLB.tv (700k) and Mosaic is going to be "TV quality" at (1.5M). If they work at the mosaic kinks it's going to be badass.

Yes, gunzz, this thread is warranted even though it is a baseball thread. I can't help the rest of the idiots make a thread about baseball every time a thought enters their peabrains.

no need either.

The sports package on direct TV, FTW.

all of the fox sports channels, YES network, etc. for $8.00 extra per month (promo). The normal rate is $12.00.

Holla.

quick question about mlb.tv... i live in a dorm and don't have cable and i was thinking about getting it to watch the braves. but i was wondering if since the braves are on tv here a ton if they wouldn't put them on mlb.tv since they are not out-of-market games. my question is do they put every game played on here aside from blackouts or will they just put the braves games on here that aren't on tbs fsn or turner south?

Raleigh is blacked out for the Nationals so you only will miss the Braves games vs them

I got the same problem as a Mets fan

I can't afford that. I just stick with the Gameday Audio feed. Luckily, one of the best sports to listen to on the radio

I'm in the same boat, last year was my first year of having MLB Extra Innings, and I had every intention of renewing it this year.

How many people can you have using your subscription at once?

Thinking about buying the season and splitting it with two people

I mean you can get by dicking around sharing your subscription, but this first time you get locked out and put in time out you seriously want to punch someone in the face.. it's frustrating.

I don't know how it works, really. Sometimes I can using my account with two other people logged in... sometimes I try to log in with someone else watching a game and it puts the account into like an hour "time out", saying too many people have logged in. I think the "safe" number is usually two.. but like I said, I'm not sure how it works.

In the past 3 people have used at the same time for me fine.. Just don't close your browser or you'll be fucked..

Mosaic looks like it has some potential... I just hope it is different from the shitstain they passed off as Mosaic last year..

I'm gonna have withdrawls this year without MLB Extra Innings. I had it in 2005 with Directv, in 2006 with Dish, and now in 2007 I will have to follow it with XM Radio. I hope like hell that ESPN will show a shitload of games and XM has good coverage this year.

Someone check mosaic out...

I'll check out the upgraded quality on Premium (non-Mosaic since I can't d/l it at work) after lunch b/c I don't feel like going down to my car to get my credit card for verification right now..

** nm.. I got it to work without the verification. The higher quality is DEFINITELY noticeable. Looks better closer. I still can't check out Mosaic from work though

V eh, I don't pay for it. My parents do and I just mooch off of them. I told them that Premium was the only way to get all the Mets games..

I refuse to pay those fuckers for Premium. There is nothing stopping them from simply giving everyone premium for the same price it's always been.

once you check it out, please post the differences in the two options as i'll probably get one of them

is the mosaic feature just something that allows you to watch multiple games at once in a grid-screen type layout?

Can someone explain to me the whole deal with Selig, MLB and DirecTV, and Selig's poison pill he put into the deal so that only DirecTV could sign up?

^^^ If you have the $$$ I'd go for the Premium. That upgraded resolution is HUGE for baseball. I watched part of a game when I was going to bed, hooked into my TV from my laptop and it was twice as good as last year (the basic resolution this year). Basic is passable buy Premium is the winner.

Mosaic is still FUCKED UP though. They said they are working out kinks but I don't hold up too much hope that it ever works smoothly. I thought maybe it was my laptop that was the problem but I tried it on my other really good computer and it still didn't work fast enough...

i got the premium...since there are 2,000+ mlb games in a season, i think the math works out monetarily

I'm thinking about going with just the audio version. I just want to be able to listen to the Braves games when I'm at work. Not a bad deal for 14.95 a year.

but I don't think Green is gonna play all that well or all that much this season

Unless he comes out of the gate smoking hot, a fellow by the name of Lastings might have his job by midseason

Does anyone know how to get around the blackout restriction? I am in the Orioles "local" market, but wanna see the Yankee games vs. Baltimore this weekend. I already checked cable and the games are NOT on tv.

yeah apparently Raleigh is blacked out for Baltimore and Washington

Not a fan of either team but the Mets do have 19 games vs the Nationals every year

There's got to be something we can do

I have a question about mlb.tv...if you start up an account with multiple people paying, how many different computers can you watch it on?

if you can watch it on a few different computers at once, I'd throw in on a package with some people, if anyone is interested

Any ideas?
