I never heard about that. But, its not like they are used to having him in the rotation. I wonder how long he can stretch his career out.

He can be an effective closer, but he's absolutely worthless most of the time since he's been hurt for the most of recent memory. His contract must be something like 80% incentive based.

summer afternoons at wrigley

its not too bad being a cubs fan

tickets on sale in a week, not really a significant event for most teams (cough white sox), but its huge if you want to go to cubs games

I think the contract he just signed was for like $500k with like $3mil in incentives. But who cares, he just banked like $30mil for pitching around 5 full games the past 3 years

I could understand you saying this a few years ago, but things have changed. Now you just look like a typical know-nothing Cubs fan.

oh, nice bandwagon you got going there

the white sox have had one year of decent attendance, 8th in percentage full in 2006

things changed for a season, lose some games and you will be back at 50% capacity

a cubs fan calling another fanbase bandwagoning. I'm sure there is a lot of sox bandwagoning going on, but nowhere near 98% of their 'fanbase' like the cubs/red cubs.

going from 50% attendance to 90% attendance in 2 years is fucking bandwagon

you will not find that trend for the two teams you just mentioned.

you're right

it's a reward to the ownership for fielding a team that wins. for acting like it's trying to win with the money you give them.

cubs ownership doesn't have to do shit, just perpetuate the holiness that is wrigley field and staff the team with a bunch of losers

last place in the NL, still sells out. "The reality is that Wrigleyville is the biggest beer garden in the world. And if you turned the seats the other way in Wrigley Field, it'd still sell out."

sounds like a good time to me. what does it say about sox fans that when they are last, nobody fucking goes?

yeah... pretty sure the consensus is that the trib is going to be selling the team

Quote :

it says "I'm not spending fifty fucking bucks to watch a bunch of losers, I'll catch it on TV. try to get better please, thanks."

and in case you didn't know, paying money to watch a bunch of millionaire losers run around and embarass themselves just so you can socialize and drink $7 bud lights is pretty... gay.

did you want me to look up specific prices? $50 was probably lowball to you people. I do know there's a bud light bleachers, and I do know budweiser is served there...

did you miss the part about the complete dissasociation between the cubsession and their team's actual baseball performance?

basically, is that your comeback?

I like to have a good time, cubs games are good times and i have loved the team since birth, not too terribly complicate to understand

i pay money to go to a baseball game because 1) i love the cubs 2) i love baseball 3) watching baseball games in nice weather with good friends is a good time

i drink beer at baseball games because i fucking want to

dont worry about what i do with my discretionary income, i get by just fine

i dont know if anyone mentioned this, but griffey getting hurt wrestling with his kids was kinda funny, considering his history of getting hurt, and what he could have been to the game had he never got hurt. I like to think he would have got 1000 hrs.
