Fishing licenses suck. I'm banking on getting 1 ticket or less every 10 years and breaking even on the deal. 2/19/2007 12:15:48 AM |

It just sucks that there is no vessel permit for this license. I think most states are going to start moving towards a similar license. Maybe we will just fish the outer banks but take our catch to Virginia Beach. 2/19/2007 11:03:19 AM |

I personally feel like this is NC regulating someone else's yard. 2/19/2007 2:42:15 PM |

I don't think you need a license to fish in somebody's private property, just public property. 2/19/2007 3:14:42 PM |

live bait residents of a particular county are exempt
as are people with food stamps
otherwise, if you're in "in-shore" NC waters, better have a license 2/19/2007 3:19:15 PM |

Fisheries are considered common property. Does not belong to one entity. Money will pay for enforcement and research (at least they say).
Revenue from saltwater licenses and stamps has done wonders here in Florida.
I don't see how anyone can bitch about $15/year. Especially when the State of North Carolina is starving for revenue for the research and proper management of the natural resources that anglers enjoy (and would want to be sustainable).
Politically, it will help recreational fishermen in terms of fisheries management and public policy.2/20/2007 1:27:21 AM |
