Do I need to use oil filter for synthetics if I use synthetic oil due to the longer interval between oil changes?

I forgot to add that I'm too lazy to change the filter when I'm not changing the oil. Will regular filter last at least 10K miles?

i wouldn't reccomend it. if you care enough about the car for synthetic, you care enough to change the filter every ~5k.

i'd say if you get something like a K&N oil filter you should prolly be good, and if you wanna go all out, get one of those that never has to be changed

i use them on my bike, and have no problems. but i can't say i ever had "problems" with any oil filters, they all do same shit, some just have better flow

^i wouldn't recommend switching to synthetic after 93 k

Test comparing various oil filters. In short don't get FRAM

mobil1 and wix both offer extended life oil filters that can go up to 15K. i change my oil and filter every 10K.

i'd rather get premuim wix than mobil1 filters. purolator pure one seems nice.

for people that don't want to spend $10 on a filter, get regular purolator or advance auto brand.

because your seals react differently to synthetic oil than they do to regular oil. when i switched, my clutch bout stopped working.

change the filter the same time you change oil. whats the point of changing oil and using dirty filter.?????? not rocket science

^I was talking about changing filter when I'm not changing the oil, not the other way around.

yea on a bike, but i still think switching 1/2 way into your engine life is not all that great of an idea.
why do you wanna go synthetic anyway?

because I thought synthetic is better for the engine, and it has longer change interval. Me being lazy thought it's a great idea to switch to synthetic.

just get a decent oil filter, and purchase some conventional oil (your choice brand/price - i do cheapest myself) rated SM and "energy conserving." change taht shit every 3-4000 miles and call it success.

.02$

My old boss had a old gmc woods truck with 350 in it and it knocked like hell & leaked oil like hell. He used it in that worked for whole winter and a spring.

my truck ran about 115k on dino, switched to synthetic and run 20-25k between changes, and at 200k its still doing fine, hell i throw a filter on there every 10-12k when the oil pressure starts droppin off, and change the oil whenever it starts lookin nasty, which is a long, long time
