It took them long enough, but TWC Raleigh finally added CW22s HD channel to their lineup, channel 222. No more waiting for the bittorrents for Smallville and Veronica Mars .

myRDC (formerly UPN28) also went HD this past week, so its available over the air, and is also showing up via QAM on TWC, so Im guessing this will show up in the very near future as well (not that anyone would really care).

Weird... I was just randomly checking last night to see if it was available yet. I guess I was just a day early with my premonition.

The cable box software has to map it to a channel. You might be able to manually tune it in by going to the diagnostic channel 999 and screwing around with stuff.

To pick up QAM channels without a digital box, you either need a cablecard from TWC or a HDTV tuner card such as some of the DVICO Fusion cards. The tuner cards can only pick up the unencrypted QAM channels though, which only include the local broadcast channels.

^When TWC signed a deal with Sinclair, Greensboro TWC started carrying the Sinclair-owned stations before the press release was even issued.

That new channel seems to be SD, not HD. The HD channels should have the black bars on the sides when it's not broadcast in high def. This channel has had the gray bars every time I have seen it. It's actually listed in the digital variety and left out of the HD lineup...

^Its the HD channel, tune in during primetime, during a HD show, and you will see.
An HD channel doesnt have to have black bars when its in 4:3...it has whatever the broadcaster wants you to see...whether thats black bars, gray bars, bars that say "FOX DT" (FOX50 used to do this), or whatever they want really. With CW22, its grey bars in local programming, black bars when in network programming.

Dont use a link from TWCs website as proof of anything, its run by a bunch of monkies.
